VERGAS Ltd specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of superior flexible membrane biogas management systems, worldwide.
The company also services biogas storage equipment, and provides consultancy services in the waste water management industry.
VERGAS has extensive knowledge and experience in the design of flexible membrane structures for biogas gasholder applications, typically for municipal sewage treatment works ( STWs ) or municipal solid waste processing facilities ( MSW or MBT plants ). Our designs, considered by others to be superior started from our extensive involvement in the anaerobic digestion processes in the waste water treatment industry ( WWT ). It is clear that there are items of equipment in sewage, sludge treatment facilities and biogas generation, that fall short of the ideal. Our design and manufacturing processes overcome these shorfalls.
Our reference list of over 100 installations in the UK and Worldwide is testimony to our sucess in this field.
It is our commitment to provide the WWT industry with a cost efficient well-engineered solution to harness and control these processes efficiently.

From our facilities in the UK we manufacture our complete range of flexible membrane biogas gasholders. Our site installation and commissioning team will travel worldwide to install our products. We also offer training for Clients staff in the installation, commissioning and maintenance of flexible membrane gasholders.
The Anaerobic process -
is undertaken in closed digesters operating above 35 C. The municipal wastewater sludge or solid waste prior to treatment is extremely malodorous and contains pathogens which prevent the direct recycling of the resultant sludge to agricultural land. The sludge after digestion, is stable, substantially pathogen-free, relatively inoffensive and of great agronomic significance, finding use as a soil-conditioner and fertilizer. During the process biogas is released in the digesters, stored, and can be used for the generation of electricity and heat.
